Westbury, UK, August. 27, 2024 - Lockheed Martin has donated 230 Prepar3D^® V6 software licences to the UK’s Royal Air Force Air Cadet Charity (RAFAC).  The Academic licences, valued at over £10,000, will provide cadets with an immersive training experience through realistic environments and scenarios, with platforms that range from civilian prop planes to fifth generation fighter jets.

Prepar3D^®, pronounced ‘prepared’, is a Lockheed Martin flagship visual simulation platform that engages its users in immersive training through realistic environments across aviation, maritime and ground domains, and is widely used for commercial, academic, professional, or military instruction. Prepar3D^® can be used to quickly create learning scenarios anywhere in the virtual world, from underwater to sub-orbital space.

The software was presented at the annual RAF Air Cadets’ National Air & Space Camp Industry Day at RAF Syerston to Jessica Gilbert, Charity Director of the RAFAC by engineering graduate and training solutions engineer, Harvey Plant from Lockheed Martin UK, who himself is a former Air Cadet and qualified private pilot.

“I am delighted to represent Lockheed Martin today to formally hand over the Prepar3D^® simulation software to the RAFAC.” said Harvey Plant. “I know how this important donation will be to the Charity and the Cadets themselves, due to my own experiences as an Air Cadet, where I was encouraged to immerse myself in as many activities as possible.  I passed the Qualified Aerospace Instructors Course (QIAC) in 2014, eventually reaching the rank of Sergeant before leaving to attain my Masters in Aerospace Engineering.”
